Santa Carla Video City - Fright Night!

Here's the first (of hopefully many) postings for my new Unreal Environment - Santa Carla Video City! An 80's era movie rental store situated next door to my previous environment, the SkateShop.

My goal is to create an immersive, fun and atmospheric environment that invokes a sense of nostalgia. Before all that I need to create dozens of bespoke one sheet poster designs and hundreds of VHS tape covers as individual illustration assets. Each piece will pay homage to and be inspired by the movies that fired up my imagination as a kid (and into adulthood.) These first three are all ProCreate rendered pieces, but over the next few months I'll be using a variety of different mediums including markers, painted canvases, Sculpey maquettes, kit-bashed model kits and hopefully I'll try my hand at airbrushing!

More to come!

Here's a first glimpse at the Santa Carla Video City logo and overall design aesthetic. I've had a lot of fun putting this together and can't wait to show more!

Each video has front and back slip covers. I'm trying to pic-bash from my existing artwork to populate the movie still frames wherever possible
