Santa Carla Video City - Pizza & Video Games Night
Here's another couple of highlighted VHS tapes available at Santa Carla Video City! With this one I liked the idea of having two similarly themed creature features paired up, but juxtaposing them by creating the main artwork using very different techniques.
The Game Over one sheet design was created using my usual Procreate recipe, whilst the Pizza Party poster was painted on canvas using acrylics. This was then scanned and colour corrected in Photoshop. I like seeing the obvious canvas texture in the acrylic painting, but am also pleased that at first glance these two are clearly from the same world.
I like creating these mock adverts. I'll use them somewhere in the UE environment eventually. Note the tie in with Pizza Joes restaurant. I have this character in a few of my artworks

Front and back covers. Creating story synopses for these movies is half the fun!
Acrylic painting progress pics. I haven't painted like this since I was a teen. It was a huge challenge but also extremely satisfying!
